Theresa Jean-Pierre Coy currently serves as the President of the George Edgecomb Bar Association. She is the managing partner of Jean-Pierre Coy P.A. where she focuses her practice in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury and family law. Theresa graduated magna cum laude from Florida A&M University with a double major in Political Science and Public Administration. She later attended Stetson University College of Law where she served as a member of Stetson’s nationally ranked Moot Court Board and honor court justice. In 2004 she was the recipient of the Victor O’ Wehle award for excellence in trial advocacy and graduated with a concentration in Advocacy. As a GEBA member, Theresa has served as treasurer, first vice president and as the co-chair of the Legal Redress Workshop, GEBA’s largest community outreach event. She currently serves on the Florida Bar’s Criminal Procedure Rules Committee and as a member of the Tampa Bay Inn of Court and the Goldburg-Cacciatore Inn of Court. Theresa is bi-lingual and speaks fluent Haitian-Creole.
